Leonardo S. Cardoso was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He received his electrical engineering and M.Sc. degrees from the Universidade Federal do Ceará (UFC), Brazil in 2003 and 2006. From 2001 to 2006, he worked in several projects for Ericsson Research at the Wireless Telecommunications Research Group, GTEL, Brazil. In 2006, he joined the Eurécom Institute, France, working in projects on heterogeneous networks and real-time MIMO channel performance assessment, significantly contributing to the EMOS MIMO platform. He is currently finishing his Ph.D. at Supélec. His research interests include wireless communications, heterogeneous networks, cognitive radio and signal processing.
